![]() ![]() If you crave the carbonation as well as the sweetness you can start with diet soda, but diet soda is still unhealthy due to the other junk in it. you'll need 2 months or so before your habit is solid instead of just leaving the behavior, have something to replace it with. understand when you experience the urge to drink, and avoid those circumstances do this each week, and every time u fuck up, you gotta give him an extra $10 bucks the next time (so $20, $30, $40, etc). if you drink soda that week, he keeps the money. leverage: beginning of each week, give a friend $20 bucks (or whatever amount though start smaller). if they go cold turkey, it never works because the chemical force to relapse is too strong.įor behavior change, regardless of what type it is, general things that help are: The whole deal against cold turkey is when people are chemically addicted to something. If it's not a biological chemical addiction, simply a behavioral one, then just go cold turkey. You will notice a huge difference when you go to drink soda for the first time in a long time just because of the feeling it leaves in your mouth. Now, i drink water most of the time and different juices, the organic stuff for the most part. About the hardest thing for me was not drinking a coke with a burger. It'll be hard at first because you're used to drinking soda with certain foods, but once you get past that, it becomes really easy. Hell, even grab a Brita, or any other brand, water filter. When you're at the store and you see soda, just resist the urge to grab it and stick with cases of water, gallons of water, or whatever you may need. Even if i go to wendy's, on the once in a bluemoon chance that i do there, i will get water. To some this isn't a big deal, but I am actually pretty proud of myself and I attribute this to your guys' tips and suggestions. So to add to my question, do you guys feel that quitting altogether is easier than weening yourself off of something like soda? For example, reducing how much soda I drink per day and week and replacing it with diet or caffeine free, then make the transition entirely to water? Or would it be simply easier to drop soda completely and force myself into the new habit of only drinking liquids that are not soda?ĮDIT #2: So it has been four days since I have not had a soda.
